This Specialist Cooking Class is roughly 3 hours long and £65 per person. It’s your perfect introduction to the flavours of Vietnam, with a focus on one of the country’s most beloved dishes—Bánh Xèo, crispy savoury Vietnamese crêpes. Don’t let the word “specialist” scare you off, even if your only experience with crêpes involves sticking them to the ceiling, our instructors have got you!
The session begins with an introduction to Vietnamese culture but like always, this is not an 9:00 AM lecture —think of it as a relaxed, engaging way to start your experience with Vietcentric.
You’ll then dive into preparing and cooking a delicious 2-course meal, the main course being the iconic Bánh Xèo. You’ll learn the traditional techniques behind making these golden, crispy crêpes, filled with fresh ingredients and packed with flavour and for the starter, a crisp and fresh Papaya Salad.
Once your cooking is complete, you can enjoy your freshly made dishes in our beautifully decorated studio, either indoors or outside (the latter only works if the weather is on our side!). Our team will also treat you to a nice little cup of assorted fruits to round off the meal.
But there’s more—Vietcentric isn’t just a cooking class. After your meal, you’ll take part in a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, an excellent way to relax and reflect on your day while cleansing your palate. Previous participants have found this part of the class especially calming and mindful (check out our reviews!). You’ll also have the opportunity to try on our traditional Vietnamese long dresses—a fun, cultural experience to complete your journey with us.
Recipes will be sent to you after the class, so you can recreate these dishes at home!
